AFRICAOILGASREPORT.COM — Simbi Wabote has been reappointed as Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) for a second four-year term, following endorsement by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, and approval by President Muhammadu Buhari. Recognized for his leadership during a challenging period of low crude oil prices, Wabote was praised for managing the Nigerian Content Development Fund effectively, completing the 17-story NCDMB headquarters, and initiating projects that garnered industry-wide acclaim.


Wabote, formerly head of the National Content unit at Shell Nigeria, is the third Executive Secretary of NCDMB and has played a pivotal role in positioning it as Africa’s most ambitious oil industry localization agency. His tenure has been marked by strategic investments in refineries and industrial parks, aimed at increasing local beneficiation of hydrocarbons and fostering Nigeria’s industrial economy.
