BUSINESSDAY.NG — Simbi Wabote, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), has been honored with the African Local Content Icon Award by African Leadership Magazine UK. Recognized for his unwavering commitment to advancing local content across Nigeria and the African continent, Wabote affirmed that the NCDMB will continue using policy, legal frameworks, and advocacy to drive sustainable adoption. Speaking in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, he dedicated the award to his family and NCDMB staff. The award highlights Wabote’s leadership in projects such as oil and gas parks, modular refineries, and youth vocational training, as well as his introduction of the 10-Year Strategic Road Map. U.S. and African leaders alike praised his contributions to industrial development, economic empowerment, and global collaboration.
